the winner of The 2011 BuzzBoat DJ Battle!
The final round of the completion took place live on Sunday, October 24th aboard the Carnival Imagination.
Thousands of listeners voted to chose their favorite mixes from over a
hundred submissions. The votes were tallied to elect six
semi-finalists. From those six, a panel of experts chose 3 finalists,
Flynn Strada, Skektek, and DJ Zvi. Each were awarded a free trip
aboard The Buzz Boat to compete live in front a panel of judges that
included Buzzlife founder Scott Henry, Simply Jeff and Justin Peake.
The Finalists were judged on track selection, crowd response, and
programming/technical mixing.
"What impressed me most about DJ ZVI were his track selection and well thought out timing of his delivery which seemed to keep the dance-floor interested and satisfied. A DJ's ability to read a dance floor and respond quickly is a necessary and powerful trait that sets him apart from so many others," recalled Scott Henry.
As the winner of live finals, DJ ZVI, Ethan Zvi, will receive an all expenses paid trip for 2 on The 2012 Buzzboat as well as a DJ slot.
I have been a huge supporter of Buzzlife since going to Fever and Nation parties. When I found out I made it into the top three and would battle on the boat I was so excited, I couldn't believe that I would be playing a Buzz party, it's always been a goal of mine," mused DJ ZVI. "The prize to be welcomed back next year to play again is just awesome! It is such an honor to be a part of one of the best parties of the year!"
